Abby!!

Wow...where does time go!! I promised to update it frequently, but I know I am slacker. But As I was reading about Dante Yorek, I started to review the entries from when I was prego!! Wow, it was touching to read how I felt and what I was thinking, so its my task to try to update once a week. Abby is growing so quickly. She is 6 1/2 months but is very alert and active.

Her accomplishments this far are as follows:
April 18, 2010: sleeps thru the night (8 PM - 5 AM = 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep) Im definetly LOVING IT!!
April 23, 2010: 4 month check up... she weighs 18 lbs and is 23 inches long!! She is growing so quickly.
May 14, 2010: Started feeding her cereal. Not a big fan of the gerber cereal but we will keep trying.
June 1, 2010: strictly being bottlefeed
June 5, 2010: first time using a sippy cup. She was a pro at holding the cup and drinking out of it!! I was very surprised!!
June 12: sits by herself or if she is laying down she will pull on whatever she can find to sit up, is not a big fan of lying down anymore
June 26: FINALLY rolls over. I dont like this because she can no longer be left alone except on the floor! Also today we found out why she has been very fusy the past couple of days...her two bottom teeth have started to break thru her gums!! :(
June 28: 6 month check up...she weighs 23 lbs and is 24 inches long!! Yes she is a big heatlhy baby!! Doctor said we should start her own solids. So thats our plan for the week!! Up until now she has only had baby cereal every now and then and just tastes the table food!! Her favorite thus far are beans!!
July 1, 2010: First trip to Chicago to meet tia lupe! She was extremly fussy because her teeth are definetly more visible and now she wants to bite everything she sees!!

She loves to play with mommy and daddy and loves to cuddle!! She is usually a happy baby and loves strangers (I know...not a good thing). She gets SOOOO excited when she sees her dad, she forgets about everything and everyone else, all her attention is on him. And Juan is just as crazy about her!! Its so touching to see the bond they share!! She has come to learn that its nap time/ bedtime after a bath, and will not let you forget! She is so smart and loves to talk. Her favorite thing to say is "Ta ta" or "Da da", they sound so much a like its hard to distinguish. She loves to engage in conversation, and sing. When she hears someone singing she will try to immitate them with long stretches of sounds. As soon as they stop, she stops too. She is a character. She still sucks her thumb, which i am not a fan of but have learned to deal with it, becuase that is her way of soothing herself. As the days go by, I think she looks a lot like me but definetly has her Juan's attitude!! I'm amazed of all of the milestones she has reached to date and look forward to the many more she has yet to reach!!

Abby is here!!

Time just flies by so fast!! Abby is 2 months old now!! She is a big girl! she weighs 13 lbs and 9 ozs. she is growing up so fast. She can hold her head up when lying on her tummy!! She enjoys long conversations with her papi!! Her only way of communicating with others is by cooing!!! These past couple of days have been really busy! I decided to go back to work early. the transition has been tough since I'm not used to running on 3 hours of sleep!! but we are working on it!! she sleeps in 2-3 hour intervals and its so hard to fall back asleep! So we are definetly working on getting her to sleep longer intervals and maybe just maybe thru the night!! Although we don't get much sleep I look forward to the end of the day to see my little munchkin! she has changed our lives completly but I wouldn't change her beautiful smile and warm hugs for the world!!

58 days!

My God, can the day be here any faster! Many people have asked me are you ready? are you nervous?, etc. But honestly I am just excited to hold this beautiful lil girl in my arms! Her arrival is much anticipated by both Juan and I. I think more for Juan than for me, because he doesn't have that bond the we have since she has been in my tummy for 8 months!! I worry about how it will change our life and our relationship, since a lot of first time parents have shared their experiences about having a newborn in the house, and how its improved or hurt their relationship. I can only hope that the baby will make us stronger and bring us closer together. Juan and I are so much alike but at the same time very different, that i know there will be a lot of differences in our parenting style, but I pray that we reach a common ground for the well being of the baby.

Its funny to hear Juan talk about the baby or even try to talk to the baby. Sometimes it seems so silly to have him talking to my tummy, but more often than not Abby will respond by kicking or moving all over the place. :) These are memories we will cherish for the rest of our lives. Just like moving in to the new house, fixing it up and fixing up the nursery for Abby. Another wonderful memory I will cherish for ever, is Juan asking me what kind of toys we were going to buy Abby for Christmas!! I looked at him with a huge smile on my face, and didnt know what to respond. After a minute or two...I looked at him and said "Sweetheart, I think we should wait to buy her toys until she is old enough to play with them". I think he was a bit upset at my response but he'll survive. You just gotta love him!!

At 8 months, I am finally starting to feel preggers!! Up to this point I have had a very easy pregnancy but now my feet are VERY swollen... I guess that means no more heels for me! :( Other than swollen feet and occaisional Braxton-Hicks, everything else is great.

The 4D ultrasound on Friday was AWESOME!! I always love going to ultrasounds because you can see the lil munchkin. I remember her 5 month ultrasound, where she was sporting all of her daddy's facial traits...she has his chin, eyes and overall facial features...in addition to being very long (I'm guessing she will be tall like her daddy). During the 4D ultrasound we confirmed that she will have her daddy's crazy hair!! She is going to have a full set of hair!! Even the technician was in shock at how much hair she has!! The only thing we can tell she will have from me is my lil lips, and I can only hope she will have my brains!!

I know I have been really bad about posting pics but I'll try to post them ASAP!!

Baby Shower!!

A couple of weeks ago my sisters and mom hosted a baby shower!! It was so much fun!! It was good to see so many old friends and family. We got a lot of gifts for Abby, she is going to be so excited and is going to enjoy each one of her gifts! Thanks a bunch for everyone who came out and for the gifts! I have a couple of pics I will post tomorrow!

Wow, time is really going by so fast. Only 65 days to go!! I haven't had time to blog b/c I've been so busy with the house! For those that haven't heard we got the house and have been fixing it up little by little. Tomorrow I will post pics of the house and of the baby shower.

Everyday that passes by, I feel more and more prego. Abby moves very frequently throughout the day, especially at night when I am trying to sleep. Resulting in a lack of sleep and feeling cranky in the mornings. In addition, as I continue to gain weight, I defintely feel heavier and unattractive but try to keep up my excercising, but its still not easy. My stomach continues to grow and challenge me when I'm trying to get things done around the house or even get dressed. But I'm not complaining I feel so blessed everytime i feel the baby move or kick. I know its a true miracle and look forward to meeting this lil person that has been growing inside me. I still can't imagine our lives with a lil one but can only aspire to be the best mommy and daddy for her.

This weekend is going to be a busy weekend, starting off with my 4D ultrasound!! Yipee!! I'm super excited. Then I have a lot of organizing and decorating to do in Abby's room. I am super excited!! I also need to go shopping for Abby's crib. Super busy weekend, but for now its time to go to sleep. Can't wait to go home tomorrow!

85 days left!!

Wow, where does time go?!?! Only 85 more days to go... I am so excited. I've been trying to keep up with the blog but have been busy getting ready for the move!!! I'm excited about the nursery and getting ready for the baby. Time just really flies by!! Well today I am 7 months and cant believe it, I wish I could just stop the clock for a couple of hours to stop and reflect on all thats going by. Now more than ever I can feel the baby move, it is so exciting. I never thought i would be one to be excited about having a kid, but it has really changed my perspective on life. I've always considered myself some what of a selfish person, and thought I would never have any kids. And now here I am ranting and raving about being pregnant.

So the past couple of weekends have been kind of busy. The weekend of September 11, Liz came to visit from LA. It was good to see her and spend time with her, even if it wasn't are usual going out, drinking and having fun. Now I enjoying cooking and entertaining them at home!! Thanks for coming LiZ!!

I'm glad to be home today and spend time w/ my Juanchito!! There are no plans for the weekend, aside from packing b/c we are moving!! Woohoo!! I am on a mission this weekend to buy a camera. Caro and liz took pictures last weekend and as soon as I get them I will post!! For know here is a pic at 6 months!!

6 Months

Wow!! Where does time go?!? The last 6 months have been the most eventful in my entire life!! Physically I am feeling great, no aches or pains, or any type of sickness!! I dont even feel prego at all!! Emotionally I am excited yet nervous, anxious yet scared, happy yet sad...Its definitely been an emotional roller coaster ride. Something that is new to me, because I am naturally not an emotional person. Juan is a real trooper, because sometimes I sit back and reflect the things I tell him and put him through...I would've killed the person by now. Needless to say, I love the extra attention when I can get it!! All in all these past few months have really changed my life 360 degrees but l've enjoyed all of the blessings and challenges that I've encountered thus far. We look forward to meeting our lil munchkin and our curious to see what she looks like. She is going to have her daddy's chin and big feet!!

On another note, this weekend was quite eventful, as usual Juan worked all weekend. On Saturday we went to Princess's birthday party. We enjoyed ourselves, or as much as I could since there was no drinking for me. Thats ok, there is always next year. I also enjoyed spending time with Princess since we dont get to see her much! Sunday was fun too... spent the day with crazy Anners!! I dont see much of her either so it was nice to go shopping and relax at home!! As usual our day was full of conversation and great food!! Monday was uneventful. Juan worked and I stayed home and organized my house, cleaned washed, watched TV and enjoyed several naps throughout the day!! I LOVE naps!!

Well I'm sad I dont have any pics to post today, but maybe later this week if not this weekend!!
